Our Camp Director is Tom Morin, a seasoned Scouter from the Atlanta Area Council who has served as the Bert Adams Camp Director since 2015.  Tom has been a volunteer Scout Leader in the Council for over 30 years.  He serves as Scoutmaster for Troop 1776, a position he has held for the past 19years.

Tom Morin was born and raised in the Chicago area but he has lived in Georgia for the past 40 years.  He has been married to Wendy for 36 years.  They have three sons and a daughter:  Tim (34), Mike (32), Shannon (30) and Doug (29).  All three of his sons are Eagle Scouts.  Shannon earned the Gold Award in Girl Scouting and was a Venturing Advisor for Crew 1776.

On a District and Council level, he has served the Foothills District as Training Chair, Activities Chair, Advancement Committee, Roundtable Commissioner, District Chairman and currently serves as on the Council Advisory Board and on the Council Training and Camping Committees.  Tom has received the District Award of Merit, the Distinquished Commissioners Award, the Scoutmaster Award of Merit, the Bronze Pelican, the St. George Medal and the Silver Beaver.  He is an Eagle Scout and a Vigil Member of the Order of the Arrow.

Tom took his Wood Badge training as a Bobwhite at SR-CS-11, the old Cub Trainer Wood Badge Course in 1998 in Sweeney Texas.  He has served on staff for nine Wood Badge courses and was the Course Director for Wood Badge Course 92-71.  He is a member of the Council Wood Badge Committee as well as the Council NYLT Committee. He has attended five National Jamboree’s including as a Scoutmaster in 2005 and as the Council Contingent Leader of the 2010 & 2013 Jamborees.

Professionally, Tom teaches lunch, working in the cafeteria at East Cobb Middle School.  He previously worked for 40 years in the foodservice distrution business.  He is a graduate from the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater.  He is an active member of the Catholic Church of St. Ann’s where he serves as a Sacristan and an Eucharistic Minister.  He is also a member of of the Egwa OA Cook Team and the Catholic Committee on Scouting

George Snipes joined the Atlanta Area Council in June 2010 as District Executive. In 2012, George was promoted to Senior District Executive. George has served as the staff leader for NYLT and the Venturing Committee, as well as serving as the Camp Director at Woodruff Scout Reservation.  George and his wife, Alyson, attended the BSA National Annual Meeting in 2012 where George was recognized by the National President’s Recognition Program as one of the top 32 youth-serving executives across America.

George is a graduate of the Georgia College and State University in Milledgeville, Georgia. He is an Eagle Scout and a Vigil Honor member of the Order of the Arrow. George has attended the OA National Leadership Seminar and served as OA Lodge Chief.  As a youth, George served on both Bert Adams and Woodruff Camp Staff for 5 years.  George and his wife Alyson are the proud parents of a baby boy.

Jason Baldridge joined the Atlanta Area Council in June, 2014 as the nation's first Safe Scouting Director. He began his Scouting career in June 2004 as a District Executive in the Pony Express Council, St. Joseph, Missouri. In June 2009, he was promoted to Program and Camping Director for the Dan Beard Council in Cincinnati, Ohio. Active in Scouting as a youth, Jason earned his Eagle Scout rank and is a Vigil Honor member of the Order of the Arrow.

Jason is a graduate of Kansas State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Agriculture with a major in Park Management and Conservation. Jason and his wife Victoria have two young children, Aaron and Abby.

As Safe Scouting and Youth Protection Director, Jason assures compliance with BSA Membership Standards, Youth Protection policies and Safe Scouting Practices. Jason serves as the professional partner to the Youth Protection Committee, Health and Safety Committee, and the Training Committee.

The Atlanta Area Council is looking for Scouts or adults to serve on our summer camp staff. The success of any program depends on the quality of the staff. Our Bert Adams Camp Staff has been selected based on their experience, training, ability to teach, love of Scouting, and a desire to make a lasting, positive impression on your Scouts and your Troop. Each member of our staff team is important and together we share the responsibility to carry on great programs and service. We are now hiring for the summer camp season.
